Elizabeth George, Founder

Since 2013, Elizabeth has helped students achieve their college dreams. She graduated with honors from Duke University and holds a master's in English from Georgetown University, where she also served as a Graduate School administrator, coaching students through competitive fellowship applications and liaising with the Department of Education. With extensive experience as an education consultant, university administrator, and writing instructor, Elizabeth takes a strategic, highly individualized approach to discerning the best educational pathways for her clients. A Pittsburgh native, Elizabeth has lived in Turkey, Spain, and Thailand, teaching and counseling students of all backgrounds. In 2018, she founded Ascendant to empower students to pursue higher education and endow them with the skills to thrive. In 2024, she published The College Admissions Workbook, a step-by-step guide for students in grades 9-12.
